Hi, I’m Gemma — a UK-born, France-raised explorer with an over-packed carry-on, a notes app full of travel tips, and a mild obsession with planning the perfect trip.
I started Where is Gemma as a side project to document the places I’ve loved, the experiences I’ve learned from, and all the little details in between. Whether I’m traveling solo, with my husband, friends, or family, I always come back with stories to tell — the good, the hilarious, and the unexpected.
This blog is part travel diary, part recommendation hub. I don’t write long-winded guides full of generic advice — instead, I share honest reflections, personal highlights, and the kind of useful tips I wish I’d known beforehand.
You’ll find a bit of everything here: brunch spots worth the hype, hotels that feel like a treat, activities with (or without) kids, and experiences that stay with you. Some posts are lighthearted, some more thoughtful — but all come from real moments I want to remember and share.
If you’re someone who loves discovering new places, values genuine opinions, and maybe even gets a thrill from crafting a travel spreadsheet (I see you), then I think you’ll feel right at home here.
Thanks for being part of the journey!
